CHICAGO, IL - September 7 - In response to the coffee service industry's overwhelming interest in single cup brewers, pods and brew-by-packs, the National Automatic Merchandising Association (NAMA) has added a special Coffee Service Open Forum that will address all issues associated with the new brewing systems, NAMA Vice President Membership and Coffee Service Dean Gilland announced today. The NAMA Expo is the world's largest vending, coffee service and food management show and will be held in Chicago October 14-16.
In discussing the special session Gilland said, "These brewers exploded onto the scene at last year's Coffee Service Pavilion which is why we added this session this year. We've assembled an expert panel representing the industry's leading professionals who will share their insights and advice into this new coffee brewing process that is sweeping the industry. Operators who are serious about remaining competitive need to learn more about these systems and we'll have experts on hand who will tell them everything they need to know to profit from these cutting-edge systems."
The Forum, led by Newco Enterprises, Inc., Vice President and NAMA Allied Member of the Year 2003, Steve Hyde, will be held on Friday, October 15 at 9 a.m. Serving on the panel will be:
- Con Foley of Gold Cup Coffee Service in Tampa Florida;
- Randy Parks of ProStar Services, Inc.; Carrollton TX
- Nicole Danjean with Standard Coffee Company, New Orleans, LA; and
- Ollie Thomas, Thomas Coffee House, and NAMA OCS Operator of the Year, 2003, Silver Springs, MD.
The panel will address topics including:
- The quality of the beverage;
- The placing of single cup equipment in an OCS account;
- Marketing strategies;
- Renting or leasing the brewer;
- Why they will be so popular.
In discussing the panel, Hyde said, "There's no question that these new brewing techniques are the wave of the future, and we've collected an expert panel representing the best and brightest our industry has to offer to help operators understand how to use these systems to improve both profitability and customer satisfaction. There simply isn't any other place where operators can learn so much about this new and important advance in coffee service, and for operators serious about their business it's truly is a not-to-be missed event."
This year's National Expo kicks off on Wednesday, October 13 with the always popular Quality Coffee Certification Program (QCCP) where attendees learn to brew the certifiably best coffee possible. The trade show officially opens on Thursday, October 14 with an expanded and completely sold-out Coffee Pavilion, and the day ends with the industry's always popular and fun Coffee Service Reception. This year's Expo also features a new two-part coffee oriented education session, Coffee Service 101 which will be held on Friday October 15 and Saturday October 16.
In addition to Coffee Service additions, attendees to this year's Expo can also look for a variety of new attractions, including a Leaders Forum, where attendees can hear first hand from some of the best known professionals in the industry and a VENDTec Technology Pavilion where attendees can compare and evaluate new technology and determine what might work best for his or her needs.
Concluded Gilland, "The response from the industry about this new session has been overwhelming, and we're excited to offer this important resource for our members. We look forward to seeing everyone there."
